Developing Culture and Operations
Workplace culture is an increasingly valuable asset for organizations and essential for long-term success. Yet, planning processes often consider external goals while neglecting internal culture. Governance models often focus on financial oversight without considering culture oversight.
Is your organization experiencing growing pains? Are you spending more time putting out fires than being proactive? Are culture issues creating risk for your organization’s people, reputation or sustainability?
Or, are you looking to intentionally define and build your culture? Do you want to assess culture as a proactive measure to inform organizational development?
Culture Work offers a range of services to assess workplace culture and support development that positively impacts your culture, operations, and people. We apply an organizational growth mindset to honor your organization’s strengths and achievements while identifying actionable areas for further development.

Adding Culture to Your Board Agenda: A Governance Approach to Culture Oversight
While workplace culture is a key aspect of governance, this topic is often left out of Board trainings and conversations.
In this workshop, Board members and executive leaders will gain understanding of how organizational culture connects to governance and how to use their roles to strategically build their desired workplace culture.
Leading with Institutional Courage
Institutional betrayal is an emerging area of study on the ways that individuals are harmed by institutions.
Its antidote, institutional courage, is “a force that transforms institutions into more accountable, equitable, effective places for everyone” (Center for Institutional Courage).
In this workshop, Board members and executive leaders will explore impacts of institutional betrayal and strategies for choosing courage at institutional levels.
Funding Healthy Workplaces
Healthy workplace cultures are essential to building thriving, impactful organization. Yet in the nonprofit field, there is a serious lack of investment in healthy environments.
In this workshop, nonprofit funders and Board members will explore the importance of workplace culture to mission-driven work and opportunities for investing in culture to support improved outcomes.
